The months of May, June, September, and October are considered the best time to undertake the Char Dham Yatra due to pleasant weather and comfortable travel conditions. Tour Itinerary

Day 1 | Delhi – Haridwar

Distance: 220 km | Travel Time: 6–7 Hours

Upon arrival at Delhi Airport, Railway Station, or your preferred pickup location, meet our driver and begin your journey to the holy city of Haridwar. After reaching, check in to your hotel and relax. If time permits, you may visit the famous Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri (at your own expense), one of the most spiritual experiences in Haridwar. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2 | Haridwar – Barkot

Distance: 177 km | Travel Time: 5–6 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Barkot via the scenic routes of Mussoorie and Vikas Nagar. Enjoy the beautiful Himalayan landscapes and lush valleys along the way. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, unwind after the journey, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in Barkot.

Day 3 | Barkot – Yamunotri – Barkot

Distance: 36 km Drive + 6 km Trek (One Way)

Start your day early and drive to Janki Chatti, the starting point of the trek to Yamunotri Temple. From here, begin the 6 km trek on foot or hire a pony, palki, or doli (at your own expense). Upon reaching the temple, take a holy dip in the Surya Kund (hot water spring) and seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna. After Darshan, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive to Barkot. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

About Yamunotri Temple:
Situated at an altitude of 3,293 metres, Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna and marks the first destination of the sacred Char Dham Yatra. Built by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the 19th century, the temple is renowned for its natural hot springs, where devotees prepare rice as Prasad in the sacred Surya Kund before offering prayers.

Day 4 | Barkot – Uttarkashi

Distance: 82 km | Travel Time: 3–4 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards Uttarkashi, a peaceful town nestled on the banks of the sacred River Ganga. Upon arrival, visit the renowned Kashi Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, before checking in to your hotel. Spend the evening at leisure, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight in Uttarkashi.

About Uttarkashi:
Known as the “Kashi of the North”, Uttarkashi is a sacred pilgrimage town famous for its ancient temples, spiritual ashrams, and serene Himalayan surroundings. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest Shiva temples in North India, is an important religious site where devotees seek the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Day 5 | Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Uttarkashi

Distance: 100 km (One Way) | Travel Time: 4–5 Hours

Early in the morning, drive towards the sacred shrine of Gangotri. En route, stop at Gangnani to take a holy dip in the natural hot water spring before continuing through the picturesque Harsil Valley, renowned for its apple orchards, deodar forests, and breathtaking Himalayan views. Upon reaching Gangotri Temple, offer prayers and seek blessings at the sacred shrine of Goddess Ganga. Spend some peaceful moments by the holy Bhagirathi River before returning to Uttarkashi. On arrival, enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.

About Gangotri Temple:
Situated at an altitude of 3,100 metres, Gangotri Temple is one of the four sacred shrines of the Char Dham Yatra. Dedicated to Goddess Ganga, the temple marks the spiritual origin of the holy river, where King Bhagirath is believed to have performed penance to bring the Ganga to Earth for the salvation of his ancestors.

Day 6 | Uttarkashi – Guptkashi / Sitapur

Distance: 220 km | Travel Time: 7–8 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your scenic drive towards Guptkashi or Sitapur via Ghanshali. En route, enjoy the breathtaking Himalayan landscapes and admire the sacred Mandakini River at Tilwara, which originates near the holy shrine of Kedarnath. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, relax after the journey, enjoy a delicious dinner, and stay overnight in Guptkashi/Sitapur.

About Guptkashi:
Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas, Guptkashi is a revered pilgrimage town dedicated to Lord Shiva and serves as an important base for the Kedarnath Yatra. The town is home to the ancient Vishwanath Temple and Ardhnarishwar Temple, attracting devotees with its spiritual significance, peaceful atmosphere, and stunning mountain views.

Day 7 | Guptkashi / Sitapur – Kedarnath – Guptkashi / Sitapur

(By Helicopter or Trek)

After breakfast, proceed for your Kedarnath Darshan as per your selected travel option.

By Helicopter:
Drive to Phata, Sirsi, or Guptkashi Helipad (as per your pre-booked helicopter ticket). Board the helicopter to Kedarnath and visit the sacred Kedarnath Temple for Darshan and Pooja of Lord Shiva. After completing your visit, return to the helipad and fly back to your departure helipad. Meet our driver and transfer to your hotel in Guptkashi/Sitapur. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.

By Trek:
Early in the morning, our driver will drop you at Sonprayag. From there, take a local shared jeep to Gaurikund, the starting point of the 16–18 km trek to Kedarnath (pony, palki, or doli available at your own expense). After offering prayers and seeking the blessings of Baba Kedarnath, return to Gaurikund by trek and drive back to Guptkashi/Sitapur. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

About Kedarnath Temple:
Located at an altitude of 3,583 metres, Kedarnath Temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and one of the holiest shrines in India. Surrounded by the majestic Himalayan peaks, the temple is believed to have been built by the Pandavas and later revived by Adi Shankaracharya. According to Hindu mythology, Kedarnath is the principal shrine of the Panch Kedar, making it one of the most sacred destinations for Lord Shiva devotees.

About Gaurikund:
Gaurikund is the starting point of the Kedarnath trek and is believed to be the place where Goddess Parvati performed intense penance to win the love of Lord Shiva. The natural hot water spring here is considered sacred by pilgrims and is an important stop on the Kedarnath Yatra.

Day 8 | Guptkashi / Sitapur – Joshimath – Badrinath

Distance: 197 km | Travel Time: 7–8 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive towards the sacred town of Badrinath via Joshimath. En route, visit the revered Shankaracharya Math, Narsingh Temple, and the holy Vishnuprayag Sangam, where the Alaknanda and Dhauliganga rivers meet. Upon arrival in Badrinath, check in to your hotel, relax, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight.

About Badrinath Temple:
Located at an altitude of 3,133 metres, Badrinath Temple is one of the four sacred shrines of the Char Dham Yatra and is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Nestled between the Nar and Narayan mountain ranges, with the majestic Neelkanth Peak in the backdrop, the temple is among the most revered pilgrimage destinations in India. The region was once known as Badri Van (Forest of Berries), which is believed to have given Badrinath its name.

Day 9 | Badrinath – Joshimath – Rudraprayag

Distance: 150 km | Travel Time: 5 Hours

Begin your day with the sacred Darshan and Pooja at Shri Badrinath Temple. After spending time exploring the temple surroundings, start your journey towards Rudraprayag. Along the way, visit the holy confluences of Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag Sangam, each holding immense religious significance. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel, enjoy dinner, and relax with an overnight stay.

About the Panch Prayag:
The sacred Panch Prayag refers to the five holy confluences of the Alaknanda River in Uttarakhand. During today’s journey, you’ll visit Nandaprayag, Karnaprayag, and Rudraprayag, where rivers merge amidst the breathtaking Himalayan landscape. These revered sites are an important part of the Char Dham pilgrimage and are believed to bring spiritual peace and divine blessings.

Day 10 | Rudraprayag – Haridwar

Distance: 157 km | Travel Time: 5 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your journey towards Haridwar via Srinagar. En route, visit the revered Maa Dhari Devi Temple, dedicated to Goddess Kali, and the sacred Devprayag Sangam, where the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi rivers unite to form the holy River Ganga. Continue your drive to Haridwar, check in to your hotel, enjoy dinner, and stay overnight.

Devprayag is one of the most sacred confluences in Uttarakhand and marks the origin of the holy River Ganga. Surrounded by majestic mountains, this spiritual destination is an important stop for pilgrims undertaking the Char Dham Yatra.

DAY 11| Haridwar – Delhi

Distance: 220 km | Travel Time: 6–7 Hours

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and begin your return journey to Delhi. Enjoy the scenic drive as you conclude your sacred Char Dham Yatra with cherished memories and divine blessings. Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be dropped off at your preferred location, marking the end of a spiritually enriching and unforgettable pilgrimage with Pranam Travels.
